For eighteen years, Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts has brought the community of Port Angeles together over the Memorial Day weekend in a celebration of all facets of the arts. This year features a more compact celebration with an exciting line up of musicians, dance, and artisans filling the streets of downtown for four days. The Vern Burton Center is location of the Festival Main Stage, Ticket Central, Street Fair, Art Show, and Kids’ Action Stations
The Juan de Fuca Festival Street Fair showcases more than 60 food, artisan and craft booths. The Street Fair is free to the public and opens on noon Friday, May 27 and continues through 5:00 pm Monday, May 30. Outdoor concerts are presented throughout the Festival on the grounds adjacent to the Street Fair, with a nonstop lineup of musicians, including local favorites & well known guests to the Olympic Peninsula. The Workshop Stage is located just inside the main entrance to the Vern Burton Center. Visitors will have a chance to try their hand at activities including yoga, songwriting, bluegrass & swing guitar, ukulele, tango, hula, and tai chi chuan.
New this year, Juan de Fuca After Hours will bring the festival back to life each evening at 10 pm with more live music and celebration at four of our wonderful downtown establishments, all located within easy walking distance of each other. Admission to these events are also included in the Festival Pass! Without the pass & festival wristband, the cost is still only $5 for a “Juan de Fuca After Hours Pass,” good at all the participating clubs, including events at Bar N9ne, R Bar, Bella Italia, & Wine On The Waterfront.
Festival tickets purchased in advance include attendance to all events at all locations over four days, now available at $50, or $55 at the gate. Daily tickets may be purchased at the gate, prices vary. Kids 12 and under are admitted at no charge.
Can’t wait for the fun to begin? Help get the party started at the Kick-off Party, when festival favorites Poor Man’s Whiskey present “Dark Side of the Moonshine”, a family friendly Wizard of Oz costume party & dance Thursday, May 26, at the Vern Burton Center. The event begins at 7:30 pm and will include a beer & wine bar. Tickets are $15 for adults (in advance/$20 at the door), $7 for children 12 and under.
